[ A paisa for my thoughts.]

My Grand daughter is one year and one month today counting the day on which her birthday was celebrated, though her actual birthday was later in the month. My grand daughter celebrated her first birthday in her father's home town here on 8th February'09 in Bangalore where my son was born.My wife was here with her parents when my son was born,I was not so lucky to be present at that point of time or later for over 6 months except visiting him and my wife from time to time.
I miss my grand daughter's presence and I do not know when I will see her again, though my son has invited me and my wife to go over and be with our grand daughter for as long as we can brace the weather at that place. He stays at a very nice place,if I could say it is a 5 star place with its own comforts and discomforts.
Comforts being the feast to the eyes and discomforts being fast to our life style.
I miss my grand daughter in so many ways and she keeps smiling at me in my thoughts where ever I go in my home or just out side my home.Even when I do my daily prayers when she too would be present and at the end of my prayers while doing Arathi ringing the hand held bell. The smoke from the Agarbathi would attract her and she would try to catch the smoke and she would also hold the bell and keep ringing till our Arathi was completed.
I wish I could see her through SKYPE but my son has no time to spare for this childish wish of me and my wife.
My wife wanted to give her grand daughter the traditional oil bath as it was given by her mother to my son but that was unthinkable.
I wanted to feed her meal but that was the prerogative of my son and daughter in law.
I wanted to take her to the park where myself and my wife go for our evening walk, the park has a corner for kids to play. Here many persons of my age bring their baby grand child's and I just watch them and try not to stare at them too often.
My wife keeps viewing our grand child in hundreds of pictures and few videos that are in my PC,a gift from my son with a new 19 inch monitor ViewSonic.
Our grand daughter has a rare method to play, anything she plays with must make a sound, even if its a plastic carry bag or a empty plastic water bottle.Once I was going around the house carrying her as my son and daughter in law were busy and my wife wanted a coconut to make Chutney for our meals. The coconut was in the large 220sqft car garage behind a heap of junk kept there since we had 4 coconut trees and lot of coconuts were available and to retrieve it I had to put my grand daughter on the ground. My fears of her not getting out of my hands vanished and she was glad to get down since she had seen the plastic bags. The moment she was put down on the floor she pulled the plastic carry bags kept in a cover and started pulling out each cover which made a sound, there were plenty of plastic bags and I had no problem in getting the coconut out under the junk which took quite sometime.
The picture above is her playing with the empty plastic carry bags.
My grand daughters name is Maya. Our delight and rejoice.
